Just for Fun,  Thankful Thursday

Special thanks to my writing community

Last week, the Border Crimes chapter of Sisters in Crime celebrated its fifth anniversary. I joined the chapter early in its second year, one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Not only have I learned a lot about writing and publishing, but I have made some terrific friends. Every one is supportive and kind and generous.

The Border Crimes celebration was the first book event I’d ever invited my mom to attend with me. She had a great time, in large part due to my crime fiction loving friends who made her feel welcome and included.

So this is my Thanksgiving shout-out to my Border Crimes and Sisters in Crime friends. Thanks!

And here’s a story I wrote in 2011 about Beth Wasson, who as executive director of Sisters in Crime keeps the organization running smoothly.

About Sisters in Crime

Sisters in Crime is almost 30 years old. Founded in 1986 by the great Sara Paretsky, Nancy Pickard, and others (you can read the history here), the organization’s mission is to promote the advancement, recognition, and professional development of women crime writers.
