The Bluebird People

All summer, I’ve enjoyed watching bluebirds play in our yard. They hang out on the gutters of the house, swoop down into the grass to catch lunch, and chase each other to the woods and back.

After population declines a few decades ago, these great birds are making a comeback, in part thanks to groups like the Kaw Valley Bluebird Association. I had the great pleasure of talking with members of this group for the fall issue of Lawrence Magazine: The Bluebird People, Fall 2013.
