Profile of a life on the Kaw

I had a terrifically fun assignment for the summer issue of Lawrence Magazine: A profile of Thomas Burns, a legendary fisherman on the Kansas River. Burns operated on the edge of the law, and sometimes just over the edge. Though he passed away 10 years ago, he left a fascinating collection of stories about his life on the Kaw, and the magazine reprinted several of those stories in this issue.

Bonus: Beautiful original artwork by Lora Jost accompanies the article.
